Our Ethos

Our Ethos

Each child within our care is seen as a wonderful and unique individual with creativity, resilience and capability to blossom and grow! We believe play is a child’s superpower! By providing opportunities for play and rich learning experiences, a child can develop both body and mind, while developing the ability to work and play with others and strengthen relationships. We believe in a safe, nurturing, child-led environment along with passionate, caring practitioners where a child can be guided to discover confidence and their full potential!

“Staff support children's social and emotional development well. They enthusiastically use their daily interactions to build relationships, and develop children's understanding and use of language. This helps children to feel relaxed and safe, and to engage in new experiences.”

Ofsted 2018

"Broadshires did wonders for my eldest son, even though we moved out of the area, I still drive daily for my youngest son to attend Broadshires as every other nursery I visited didn’t match up the amazing setting here."

Our Vision
Mission Staement

Our Vision

To be a model provider of quality child care where our children experience the rich possibilities of childhood as independent and creative thinkers fuelled by wonder and curiosity.

Mission Statement

We are dedicated to our ethos and vision, by providing a safe environment that is play based and child-led, with irresistible provocations to explore. We understand the crucial role of how the environment supports interaction and engagement.

The children have the freedom to be inside or outdoors, which supports their learning and development within the Statutory Framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage. This encourages the children to become creative, exploratory, imaginative and independent individuals.

Children develop well when there is a strong partnership between themselves, practitioners and parents / carers. We continue to create this through our key worker system, being committed to safeguarding and valuing parents input, feedback and being included at all levels.

"Before she joined Broadshires our little girl was very shy around others and only used to playing with other girls. Within the first term the difference was noticeable, she oozed confidence and character, socialising with everyone. She loves the relaxed feel and open outdoor/indoor play. The staff are all amazing, knowing what she loves and helping with some parental challenges my "perfect in public" LG was having at home. Honestly I can say it's a wonderful environment to blossom in."

"We could not be more pleased with Broadshires Preschool. Their devotion to their jobs is very clear and communication with us has been brilliant. They have a great understanding of each child in their care."

What makes Broadshires special?

Broadshires is special because we have a wonderful team of practitioners providing wonderful and stimulating activities. Our highly skilled team are often seen getting down to the children’s level to really engage in lovely conversations, enhancing the children’s imagination. We really do pride ourselves on being child-led and this really comes through when our staff are seen playing hide and seek or are leading a group of children onto an imaginary pirate ship. Our practitioners have a real energy about them and can fully indulge in the imaginations of the children. Along with our dedicated and passionate practitioners, we also have a parent committee who work alongside the staff. Our parent committee are dedicated individuals who volunteer their own time to ensure that charity side of the pre-school is running smoothly. Every member of staff and committee member, really do have one passion and that is ensuring that Broadshires pre-school remains to be the quaint successful setting it has been since 1992.

"We absolutely love Broadshires Pre-school. We came across it after a recommendation from a friend and fell in love with the quaint setting. Our oldest son spent 2 years there and now our youngest is also benefitting from the charm of Broadshires. It really is a wonderful childcare setting"
